Too Much Murder and Deceit
I need a break from murder and deceit.
Every week, I set aside an afternoon to read heartbreaking stories, searching for one or two awful events to share on social media.
Did They Really Murder Their Spouse?
I also spend hours thinking about new articles.
Pamela Smart, Margaret Rudin, Michael Peterson, Katherine Knight, Tex McIver, Luc Tieman, Leah Joy Ward, Tom Foley and Marjorie Orbin remain on my "to-do" list.
But I started this list five years ago. Time moves on. Tex McIver is already out of prison.
Too Many Paywalls
Another reason I am taking a break from Murder News is the increasing number of blocked news sites. Even sources I added just a few months ago are suddenly locked behind paywalls.
I cannot share articles that require site registrations to read them. But people stopped buying newspapers. Reporters want to get paid.
Bad Marriages is Still Active
I disabled new comments, but The Bad Marriages website isn’t going anywhere.
The Murder News section has hundreds of links to tragic stories and is available 24/7—whenever you need to read about a formerly joyous marriage that ended in murder.
Scott Peterson seems to be inching toward a new trial—and possibly freedom.
Drew Peterson still hopes for another chance in court, though it seems unlikely.
Clay Starbuck also deserves a new trial. I will update his story, if he makes it back to court.
A Little Light in the Darkness
There are storms outside, but I feel a bit calmer. I have been overwhelmed by negativity lately. I don’t want to flood your social media feeds with even more darkness.
Keep smiling :)
